Halifax 2 Toronto, Mark Demontis - Blind Skater

About the Campaign

From August 13th through to October 15th 2011, Courage Canada Founder Mark DeMontis is inline skating from Pier 21 in Halifax to Toronto in support of Courage Canada. Mark will be skating roughly 50-70km per day for a 9 week (64 day) journey across five provinces to arrive in his hometown Toronto at Weston Lions Arena.

Mark is stopping in communities along the way raising funds and awareness for Courage Canada. The campaign is supported by lead sponsor Accessible Media Inc and organizations such as Tim Hortons, Reebok, Active Green & Ross, Mortgage Sense, Lions Clubs across Canada , Provincial & RCMP Police and more.

The goal of the campaign is to raise more funds and awareness to start more Blind Hockey programs across Canada for Canadians who are blind and visually-impaired. Your financial support will directly help provide youth and adults with the opportunity to learn and play our nation’s game in regions all across the country.

Be sure to read Mark’s Blog to stay up to date on his progress.
